To kick off my 5k running season, I woke up at 5am on October 27th to prepare for the Women in Distress run at Tradewinds Park. Although I do not consider myself to be a runner, I attend spinning classes on a regular basis and try to add as much cardio to my workout as possible. This was my second year participating in this event and my main goal for the run was to stay on pace and not stop running. Once we brushed the chill off that hurricane Sandy left us with, the run was very enjoyable through the beautiful scenery of the park. There were more 1,000 participants of all ages that joined together to help such an amazing organization benefiting the South Florida Community.
I felt honored to be representing the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders at this event and to interact with the many people that share the same passion for this organization. Women in Distress holds a special place in our hearts and we are happy to support it when we can!
