As we kick off 2013 and the post season, my teammates and I are always looking for ways to stay in shape and continue our work in the community.
It was great to team up with my fellow MDC’s for one of our first 5Ks of 2013 benefiting the Davie Police Memorial & Police Athletic League. It had been a few weeks since we all danced together so we were thrilled to join in on the Zumba dance warm up prior to the race!
Once we were stretched and ready to go, we lined up along side some of Davie’s top law enforcement to start the race. Nova Southeastern University made for a great back drop. As we made our way through the course I felt slightly more competitive this race as I tried to keep up with the Davie Police officers. It gave me an extra push and I clocked a new personal best!
Before we left we had the chance to jump in a Davie Police S.W.A.T car! It turns out you can fit about a dozen cheerleaders in a S.W.A.T vehicle. As always we had a great time and can’t wait for the next race. I hope to see you out there!
